Ngawi (beritajatim.com) – Sri Yatmini (51), a resident of Margomulyo Village, Margomulyo District, Bojonegoro Regency, experienced an unpleasant incident while exercising at Alun-Alun Ngawi. Her bag, containing a mobile phone, cash, car keys, and other valuable items, was stolen while she was taking a photo on the sidewalk of Alun-Alun on Friday (3/1/2024).
The incident started when Sri and some of her friends were exercising at Alun-Alun Ngawi, and during a photo session, she placed her bag on the sidewalk not far from the photo location. After the photo session ended, her waist bag was already missing. Immediately after that, she reported it to the Ngawi Police.
“I immediately reported to the police as soon as I lost the bag,” said Sri.
The police immediately conducted an investigation, and the perpetrator was identified. It was found that the perpetrator was AT (50), a resident of Grudo Village, Ngawi District. AT was arrested at his home on Friday afternoon.
“We have arrested the perpetrator at his home. The stolen items, a mobile phone, cash of Rp1.9 million, ATM card, and car keys, were all recovered. We then returned them to the owner,” explained the Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of Ngawi Police, AKP Joshua Peter Krisnawan. Tuesday (3/5/2024).
“Thank you for reporting to the police, so we could act quickly. On that day (Friday, 2/1/2024) around 5:00 PM, we successfully captured the theft perpetrator along with the evidence, the victim’s bag. We advise the victim to be more cautious. We also urge the public to immediately report to the police if they lose their valuables,” he added.
