Lamongan (beritajatim com) – R (20), a female factory worker in Lamongan, was raped on her way home from work. She works at a factory in Gresik Regency.
The Head of Public Relations of Lamongan Police, Ipda Andi Nur Cahya, said that they have received a report regarding the case. Lamongan Police have started the investigation.
“Yes, there was a report submitted to Lamongan Police by the victim on Wednesday (17/7/2024),” said Andi Nur Cahya when confirmed on Tuesday (23/7/2024).
Andi explained that the incident occurred on Tuesday night (16/7/2024) around 21.18 WIB. At that time, the victim was on her way home riding a motorcycle.
When passing through a sugarcane field in a village in Sambeng District, the victim was suddenly hit by a stone thrown by an unknown person. The victim fell immediately.
Subsequently, a man without a face cover appeared and dragged the victim into the sugarcane field. The man then raped the victim at that place.
“When the perpetrator was about to act, the victim resisted, so the perpetrator immediately took a scythe he had brought and wrapped it around the victim’s neck while threatening her,” said Andi.
Because she continued to resist, the perpetrator eventually tied the victim’s hands with the victim’s bag strap. Not only that, the victim’s eyes were also covered with the perpetrator’s shirt. After satisfying his lust, the perpetrator fled, leaving the victim in the sugarcane field.
Andi said that the rape case involving the factory worker from Sambeng District is currently being investigated by the police.
“Currently, the case is being handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division of Lamongan Police,” he said. [fak/beq]
