Rehan/Lisa Lolos ke 16 Besar usai Gebuk Ganda India

Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Indonesia’s mixed doubles pair, secured a victory against Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath in the round of 32 at the Japan Open 2024. Rehan/Lisa won against the Indian duo in straight sets with scores of 21-10 and 18.

This victory earned Rehan/Lisa a spot in the round of 16 at the Japan Open 2024. In the next round, they will face representatives from Hong Kong, Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet.

Playing at the Yokohama Arena on Tuesday (August 20, 2024) afternoon WIB, Rehan/Lisa started the match strongly with a 6-3 lead against Karunakaran/Variyath. They continued to earn points and widen the gap to 9-4.

As a result, Rehan/Lisa took a commanding lead over the Indian pair in the first game with a score of 11-5 at the interval. After the break, the Pelatnas PBSI Cipayung pair continued to dominate. Rehan/Lisa extended their lead to 16-6.

The Indian pair was completely overwhelmed by them. In the end, Rehan/Lisa sealed the first game with a winning score of 21-10 against Karunakaran/Variyath.

In the second game, Rehan/Lisa maintained their pace. The pair, currently ranked 20th in the world, managed to take a 7-4 lead over Karunakaran/Variyath.

Meanwhile, the Indian pair equalized to 8-8. However, Rehan/Lisa managed to break free from the pressure and lead 11-9 at the interval of the second game. A fierce battle ensued after the break.

Karunakaran/Variyath managed to equalize again to 14-14. But Rehan/Lisa successfully handled the pressure and extended their lead to 17-15. As a result, they closed the second game with a victory of 21-18.
