President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the significant impact of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) in Jakarta. The program has successfully reached and benefited 20 million individuals, including school-age children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, since its launch eight months ago.
With 5,800 Nutritional Service Units (SPPG) established in 38 provinces, the MBG program has not only provided free nutritious meals but also generated 290,000 jobs and engaged one million farmers, fishers, livestock breeders, and small and medium-sized enterprises. President Prabowo highlighted the positive outcomes of the program, such as improved school attendance and academic performance, emphasizing its role in fostering a healthy and productive generation.
Despite its relatively short duration, Indonesia’s MBG program has already outpaced the progress of similar initiatives in other countries. President Prabowo compared Indonesia’s achievements to Brazil, noting the nation’s capability and potential for success when its people are motivated and united. The Annual Session, attended by key government officials and leaders, highlighted the program’s strategic importance in building a brighter future for Indonesia.
