Addressing the Indonesian diaspora at the Diaspora Global Summit 2 in Jakarta, Hamdan Hamedan, Senior Advisor at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), highlighted President Prabowo Subianto’s five flagship programs. These programs, including Free Nutritious Meals, Free Health Checkups, People’s Schools, Merah Putih Village and Urban Cooperative, and the Three Million Homes program, are designed as an integrated policy package aimed at supporting citizens from early stages of life to achieving economic independence.
Illustrating the integration of these programs through the story of a young girl named Ani, Hamdan emphasized the importance of ensuring proper nutrition and health from the crucial First 1,000 Days. Ani benefited from Free Nutritious Meals, continued to receive support through People’s Schools, and her family accessed financing from the Merah Putih Cooperative, ultimately purchasing a home through the Three Million Homes program.
Hamdan stressed that these initiatives are already in motion with measurable targets to eradicate extreme poverty. He expressed President Prabowo’s commitment to building dignity and self-reliance among the people. IDN-U President Professor Herry Utomo praised the strategic policies, noting the positive impact on societies seen in many countries, and affirmed the diaspora’s readiness to support this vision.
This historic moment presents an opportunity to eliminate extreme poverty, with concrete actions already underway and a promise of continued progress towards a healthier, educated, and prosperous society.
