Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – Polsek Tenggilis arrested motorcycle theft bandits in Surabaya after committing a crime at an office on Tenggilis Timur Gang II Street, last Thursday (03/10/2024). The Criminal Investigation Unit of Polsek Tenggilis is still pursuing 1 person who managed to escape and is now listed as a fugitive.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polsek Tenggilis, Ipda Oyong Abdillah, explained that they have already captured one suspect with the initials DN, a resident of Banyuurip Street. DN played the role of the motorcycle theft executor.
“Currently, we are still developing the case. The suspect admitted to committing motorcycle theft only once,” said Oyong on Saturday (12/10/2024).
DN confessed to the police that he and his friend with the initials BG were looking for targets while riding a Honda Revo motorcycle. They passed through the office area on Tenggilis Street and found a motorcycle with weak security. The suspect DN immediately executed the Honda Beat motorcycle with license plate L 2702 BAG.
“The stolen motorcycle was sold to a receiver in Madura for Rp 3.5 million. The proceeds have already been divided between the two suspects,” added Oyong.
According to police data, DN had been previously detained for a case of abuse. Now, he must return to prison and face charges under Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison. (ang/but)
