The arrival of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Singapore for the National Day celebrations made a significant impact on Indonesian students studying in the country. Meeting with President Prabowo provided them with a sense of closeness to their homeland, bringing a feeling of being back in Indonesia. Four students from the Singapore Institute of Management, namely Belinda, Donata, Daniel, and Ardi, had the opportunity to directly interact with the President. This encounter went beyond just a casual meeting, as it served as a heartfelt reminder of their national identity. Meeting their country’s leader while being abroad created a sense of home on foreign soil for these students. They expressed their gratitude for the chance to meet and shake hands with President Prabowo and members of the Kabinet Merah Putih who were also present. The students described the experience as truly memorable and unique. For Belinda, meeting President Prabowo during Singapore’s National Day Parade made her feel closer to home, emphasizing the significance of the encounter. Donata shared her happiness at having the opportunity to meet President Prabowo in person, especially as it was her first time meeting a President. Another student added that meeting the President was a rare and unforgettable experience for them.
