Share

A meeting was held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta by several ministers in the Red and White Cabinet to discuss the situation of PT Sritex workers who had been laid off. The main purpose of the meeting was to address the directive given by Prabowo for ministers to find solutions for the affected employees. Among those present were Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin.

During the meeting, Prasetyo emphasized the president’s concern for the workers and stressed the need to urgently resolve the issues faced by PT Sritex following its bankruptcy declaration in October 2024. The objective is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees with a new working scheme in the textile sector. Minister Yassierli praised the efforts made by the curator to potentially rehire former Sritex employees within the next two weeks.

Furthermore, Prabowo’s commitment to offer support and guidance is expected to provide relief to the PT Sritex employees affected by the layoffs. The Ministry of Manpower is actively protecting the rights of PT Sritex Group workers by ensuring they receive layoff compensation and other entitlements. The PT Sritex Curator Team is currently in the process of selecting investors to manage Sritex’s assets under a new scheme, which will ultimately result in the reemployment of the laid-off workers. This initiative aims to bring stability to the affected employees and offer a resolution to their current predicament.
