PP Pordasi-Kementan Explore Collaboration to Realize Equine Disease-Free Zone. The Central Board of the All Indonesia Equestrian Sports Association (PP Pordasi) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the synergistic development of horses in Indonesia. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the advancement of the horse farming sector and supports equestrian sports in the country. The Chairman of PP Portasi, Aryo Djojohadikusumo, hopes that through this collaboration, the Ministry of Agriculture can help realize an Equine Disease Free Zone (EDFZ) with the nearest target in Bali and Jabodetabek. This zone is a crucial prerequisite for developing equestrian sports in Indonesia. Aryo explained that the collaboration between PP Pordasi and the Ministry of Agriculture is a strategic step in integrating various potentials of the horse farming sector with equestrian sports in Indonesia. The development of local horses will not only strengthen the equestrian sector but also drive economic growth for the community, especially local horse breeders. The Memorandum of Understanding includes several strategic programs for the development of the horse farming sector in Indonesia. These programs aim to enhance the quality of local horse breeds, modernize and sustain horse farming systems, build the capacity of horse breeders associations and institutions, exchange data and information, as well as other agreed-upon forms of collaboration to support sustainable development programs. In the near future, PP Pordasi, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, will conduct data collection, registration, and issuance of Horse Passports for both local and elite horses to ensure accurate data on the quantity and quality of horses in Indonesia. Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, emphasized the importance of developing quality local horses through crossbreeding with high-quality horses from other countries. By monitoring and evaluating the collaboration periodically, the Minister hopes that the partnership with PP Pordasi will bring tangible benefits to all parties involved, especially horse breeders and equestrian athletes. The goal is to elevate the quality of Indonesian horses and showcase the nation’s potential in this field on a global scale.
