Prabowo Subianto Meets with China PM, Aims to Enhance Economic and Educational Collaboration
Beijing – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with China Prime Minister Li Qiang to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy and education.
The meeting, held at the Great Hall of the People in Xicheng, China, on Saturday (November 9), highlighted the close friendship between the two nations. Prabowo emphasized the importance of the meeting as a symbol of the mutual respect and deep connection shared by Indonesia and China.
“This demonstrates the close friendship and great respect that the People’s Republic of China has for Indonesia. I want to reiterate that we see China as a significant friend and a key partner, not only for today but also for the future,” Prabowo stated.
Prabowo expressed his vision for both countries to take proactive steps toward expanding cooperation across various sectors, notably in economics and education.
In the field of education, Prabowo stressed the importance of increasing student exchange programs between Indonesia and China, encouraging both Indonesian students studying in China and Chinese students studying in Indonesia.
“We are also keen to collaborate with your country in education. We would like to send more of our students to study at your higher education institutions,” Prabowo said.
Prime Minister Li echoed this sentiment, expressing hope that the friendship between China and Indonesia would continue to flourish, providing a robust foundation for bilateral cooperation.
“This collaboration will further contribute to regional and global development and prosperity,” he added.
