Dmitry Bivol and Beterbiev were initially scheduled to fight on June 1, but the match was postponed after Beterbiev suffered a meniscus injury during training, adding to the long list of injuries he has experienced in recent years.

“I will try to do my best,” said Bivol. “If I can try to finish the fight, of course I will take that opportunity. In my head, I always think about how to win this fight and how to make everything perfect. Honestly, I don’t think about KO.”

To prepare for this fight, instead of training in Indio, California, where he usually trains, Bivol trained in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan for three weeks and 45 days in Turkey, and two weeks before the fight he moved to Riyadh.

“My body is a little different from when I prepared to face Canelo Alvarez two years ago,” said Bivol.

“My conditioning coach could see and provide new and different training. At the same time, this is a similar program.”
