Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – BNN and the Surabaya City Public Order Agency raided Real X Surabaya on Saturday (15/06/2024) early in the morning. From the raid, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Surabaya found 2 individuals whose urine tested positive for illegal substances.
The Public Relations Officer of BNN Surabaya, dr. Singgih Widi, stated that urine tests were conducted at two different locations. Namely, Real X Surabaya on Jalan Raya Jemursari and Blue Angels Surabaya on Jalan Manyar Kertoarjo. The number of visitors tested by officers from the two locations was 137 people. “At the first location (Real X Surabaya), there were 75 people tested and at the second location (Blue Angels Surabaya), there were 62 people,” said Singgih.
At Real X Surabaya, officers found two drug users suspected of using methamphetamine and ecstasy. The two individuals who were apprehended tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. Officers also found two individuals who tested positive for benzodiazepine (sedative) but had a doctor’s prescription. “One person tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, one person tested positive for methamphetamine. These two individuals were taken to BNN Surabaya for further examination,” added Singgih.
Meanwhile, during the urine test at Blue Angels Surabaya, officers found one person who had taken a sedative. However, the visitor was able to show a doctor’s certificate. Officers did not find any visitors consuming drugs at Blue Angels Surabaya. “At the second location, we found one person who had consumed benzodiazepine, with the visitor taking the sedative from a psychiatrist,” he emphasized.
BNN Surabaya is committed to continuing similar operations to reduce drug users in Surabaya. Singgih ensures that officers will conduct raids on all Public Entertainment Recreation (RHU) venues in Surabaya periodically.
“This will be done periodically, as part of prevention efforts especially related to the implementation of the P4GN which stands for Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Trafficking of Narcotics in the city of Surabaya,” he concluded. (ang/kun)
